The uncommon ability of honey bees to maintain the one temperature in the brood nest allows us to apply a very predictable formula for estimating a great deal inside of the hive. In this seminar we will discuss how this temperature dependent growth period impacts colony cycles, brood build up, overwintering success, and swarming. We all know the 21, 24, and 16 are magical numbers, but here we work to provide a more involved look into the bee math that happens in and out of the hive.
